Bunk Beds. Friday , September 29th , 2017 - 07:03:17 AM
Bunk beds make so much sense because they are versatile. When your child is outgrowing the crib and you don`t know what the future holds, a good bunk bed could be all you need. Buy one with the option to separate the beds so you can use them apart or stacked. Buy one in a classic style that can be used with any kind of bedding to suit your child`s preferences over the years. Once all your children have used the bed, pass it on to the grandchildren or resell it. A quality bunk bed will withstand the use and abuse over time and still come out looking great.
Of course, there are many skilled people out there who could accomplish this rather daunting task with no problem. There are others, who, perhaps after viewing one too many home-repair shows, now feel themselves fully qualified to do any type of construction involving assorted power tools. Bunk beds are different. There is nothing more important than the safety and security of your family, and bunk beds present multiple opportunities for catastrophic failure.
Bunk beds built to those regulations are generally built to hold an adult weighing up to 250 pounds. If you are pushing the limits, try cedar instead of pine. In the beds we sell, the cedar logs are 5 ½ to 6 inches in diameter, while the pine is about 3 ½ inches in diameter. They are both built to federal specifications, and the pine bunk beds are very solid and strong, but if there is a question in your mind, go for the bigger logs. And of course, you can always put the big fella on the bottom, too.
