Some examples of twin full bunk beds for sale presently, are the Pine Wood and metal futon style. This bed is convertible to allow seating when the lower bed is not being used, and costs $299 brand new, which is a very reasonable price. The mattresses are sold separately and the unit is a breeze to assemble. The Twin Over Full Honey Trundle Bed, is simply amazing in that the bottom converts into a full bed with its own trundle bed which pulls out easily beneath it. This makes three beds and is great for sleepovers with friends or cousins. The frame is made from solid Brazilian pine, the finish is safe for children, and the entire unit only costs $495. That is a great price for two twins and one full sized bed. The ladder to the top bunk has child friendly rungs. When shopping for the mattresses, you only need buy one standard full and two twin sizes.
Is the bed safe? Does it comply with all the safety standards? Where was it manufactured and do you trust the quality control of that country? Read up on the safety standards before shopping so you know. Are there obvious safety issues like sharp, protruding edges, unfinished wood, or splinters? Any violations in this area could lead to serious injuries. Beds coming from a reputable furniture manufacturer should be compliant with safety standards.
The other alternative to hold the mattress up is called a Bunkie board. A Bunkie board is basically ¾ inch plywood cut to the size of the box spring. It sits inside either the metal bed frame, or the wood bed frame, and supports the mattress. If you have a box spring you don`t need a Bunkie board, but if there is not a box spring, the Bunkie board is what supports the middle of the mattress. We sell Bunkie boards if people want them, but a lot of people just cut their own. It`s up to the buyer.
